I decided to incorporate a braid with my infamous look: the bun. I got my mother to braid my hair upward. I tied the braid first, then I bunned the remainding hair and I pinned it. Peep it:

Spring Fashion via Bella Magazine

Tea wrote her first column editorial for Bella Magazine – a women’s mag based out of SW & Central Va. Since the article is all about spring and awesome fashions, we wanted to share it with you guys! Enjoy!

“Spring is here — with a fun and frisky game plan on fashion.

This season is all about being risky. Mixing prints and patterns is a fashion no-no, but not this time of year. Don’t be afraid — pair polka dot tops with striped shorts, or floral dresses with striped cardigans. Mixing nature and bold prints will turn heads – but for a good reason.

Sheer and chiffon –- huge hits this past winter — will stay around for spring fling. Check out chiffon button down tops, and wear them belted, loose or tie the front ends. Throw a bandeau underneath, or for more coverage, go with a basic tank. Maxi sheer skirts and dresses are trendy and ready to complement spring looks.

Highlighter pens in your purse should not be the only neon you have on you. Accessorize a simple outfit with a bright orange messenger bag, turquoise clutch or add a skinny lime green belt over top of your blouse. These eye-popping accessories will not only light up the season, but your mood as well.

Not into the neon movement? Get down with pastels. Balance a pastel look with nothing else but more pastels. Pair a light pink pair of skinny jeans with a pastel yellow top. Don’t shy away from the dull hues – they are a DO.

This spring, the blog Man Repeller suggests that you give your wrist an arm party. Metallic cuffs, gold bangles and slave bracelets are spring-tastic. Look out for snap cuffs, wrap-around bracelets and tons of bangles in all sizes. Not only are these bracelets fashionable, but they are such easy DIYs. Google how to create accessories; it will save you some bucks, and give you an opportunity to show off your crafty side.

You do not have to be near a beach for straw hats. Pull out those suckers, and give yourself a hat attack. Keep it traditional with large fancy sun hats in neutral tones. Or have fun with a colored men’s straw hat. Not only do hats protect from the sun, but they give outfits personality.

Wearing a maxi dress? Tie a knot at the bottom – this makes the dress different and playful. You can do the same with long loose shirts or skirts. A little change goes a long way.

When it comes to your footwear, platforms are still a big hit. Do not get rid of your chunky heels and wedged boots. But pointy toe pumps, strappy sandals and nude heels are making their way back into our hearts – and closets. Play around with thick and thin soles – the more options, the better.

Before you update your entire closet, think about some items that can be worn all year round. Motorcycle boots, jean jackets, light knit sweaters and scarves are classic. Throw on a plain tee, cut-off jean shorts and military boots, or pair a light sweater with shorts and sandals. There is nothing simple about those looks, and you didn’t even break the bank for new items.

This season is all about trying something new and funky, even if it is not necessarily your comfort zone. So don’t be shy. Play around with your outfits, and make your wardrobe more fun.

So what’s your spring wardrobe about? Flower power or a box of crayolas?”
